| Arnie Somogyi, Alan Skidmore and Steve Melling outside Ronnie Scott’s club in London’s Soho. Drummer Paddy O’Flaherty was still setting up. |
|
This is Alan's most regular group with Steve Melling on piano, Arnie Somogyi
on bass and Paddy O’Flaherty on drums. They play gigs all over the UK and often
overseas. The repertoire is a mixture of standards, original compositions and
John Coltrane tunes.
Critic Alun Morgan wrote of the quartet: “He succeeds in getting the ‘other world’ feeling of John Coltrane without producing a slavish copy.” |
