1958 Started playing professionally
1961 First of many BBC Jazz Club Broadcasts
Toured UK with Tony Hancock and Matt Monroe
1963 Toured with the Eric Delaney Band
1964 Joined Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated.
Recorded with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers together with Eric Clapton.
1965 Appeared with Ronnie Scott Quintet at the Royal
Festival Hall with Thelonius Monk Quartet
1965/69 Jazz Workshops for North German Radio and
Television in Hamburg with Weather Report,
Dave Holland, Chick Corea, Albert Mangelsdorf
and John Surman. Recorded film music with Herbie Hancock
1969 Represented United Kingdom at the Montreux
International Jazz Festival with Alan Skidmore
Quintet (Kenny Wheeler, Tony Oxley, Harry
Miller, John Taylor).Awarded International Press
Prize for Best Band, the Soloist Prize, and a
Scholarship to Berklee School of Music, Boston, USA
Made first album Once upon a Time with Quintet.
